Dr. G Vijayalakshmimi, is appointed as Principal at Sri Devaraj Urs College of Nursing, Tamaka, Kolar in 1st April 2012. Completed Basic B.Sc(N) in 1992 from Government College of Nursing, Bangalore, Karnataka, M.Sc(N) with Medical Surgical Nursing speciality in 1997 from Dr.M.V.Shetty Institute of Health Sciences, Mangalore from Mangalore University and PhD(N) from Annapoorna College of Nursing, Vinayaka Mission University, Salem, Tamilnadu in 2010.
She worked at various capacities as teacher and administrator in the same college from 1997 onwards. She worked as a Lecturer, Associate professor, Professor and HOD in the department of Medical surgical Nursing as well Vice principal in the same College. She has put up a total 28 years of experience as a professional nurse. She is a recognized PG and PhD guide. She is a member of Professional bodies such as Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI), Nursing Research Society of India (NRSI) and Society of Indian Neuro Science Nurses (SINSN) and also a member of voluntary organization namely Gram Vikas a Society of rural development. She worked as treasurer from NRSI at south region.
She has published articles and research papers in state, National and International journals and presented scientific papers in National and International conferences and she also became a resource person. She is keen in academic development of students and in view of this a few of her studies: a qualitative research studies on experiences of nursing students on academic failure, experience of nursing students on clinical exposure, level of satisfaction on implementation of nursing curriculum among nursing students. She had written a test book on Medical Surgical Nursing (Solved questions and answers). Considering her service in education, she was awarded as best educationist from International Institute of education and management, New Delhi in the year 2014 and Florence Nightingale award for best Principal in 2020.
